Read a bit of history to find out more about Brazil and Portugal’s contacts in those times. Dom João VI preferred to stay in Solar del Rey. The palace is very interesting in its own way. Another plus of the area is that there are no cars. The best way to explore the island is by bike, horse or on foot. This peaceful and quiet spot is surrounded by tall palm trees.
