2. The Maldives
The smallest country in Asia is the Maldives. It is made of tiny islands and inhabited by a population of only 340,000. The problem with this stunning place is that it is sinking and will soon be fully covered with water. About 80% of the Maldives are less than 1 meter above sea level. Another century will pass before the country vanishes off atlases and maps.
