4. Oatmeal
Oatmeal is recommended to people whose blood glucose levels tend to rise too often and too rapidly. This type of food contains lots of fiber – more than you can find in other types of grains. Fiber slows down the process of absorption of carbs, fats and toxins. Oats also decrease the level of bad cholesterol. There’re a few varieties and the best one to consume is steel cut oatmeal. It might take you a bit longer to prepare, but the good thing is that in such oatmeal the glycemic index is lower. Managing your blood sugar levels is easier if the GI is not high.
