3. The Smith Machine Squat
You can find the Smith Machine in almost every gym. People use it to do squats. They sometimes add weight to make their squats more complex. However, this kind of equipment should be avoided. This machine makes you perform the exercise in an absolutely linear position. This puts too much stress on the lumbar (i.e. lower back) and knees. Moreover, if you are used to working out in reverse to strengthen your biceps and shoulders, you may cause severe nerve impingement. As a matter of fact, there're no ways to help you use this machine in a safe manner whatsoever.
