2. Nausea

Abdominal swelling is accompanied with nausea. The feeling comes with loss of appetite and indicates that the liver cannot function properly. The liver filters out all kinds of toxic by-products. If the liver is damaged, then the poisonous by-products of the metabolism accumulate in your bloodstream and cause a feeling of sickness. The more toxins your body accumulates, the sicker you feel. Later this feeling of sickness turns into vomiting and the patient cannot eat at all. In some instances the liver would produce hormones that increase the levels of blood calcium. The condition is known as hypercalcemia. It also leads to both digestive distress and nausea.
