You’d be hard-pressed not to fall in love with the majesty of the Gran Cenote, one of the most popular cenotes in the Yucatan Peninsula (and the world). Cenotes are mostly associated with areas where limestone bedrock has collapsed and exposed groundwater. The Gran Cenote pictured here is actually a series of connected cenotes meandering along the jungle floor just a few kilometers from Tulum. The waters are so crystal clear that marine life can be seen below without the use of snorkeling equipment.
