8. Summerfest, USA

Summerfest will celebrate its 50th Anniversary in 2017, which makes it one of the longest lasting music festival in the world. It is held at the Henry Maier Festival Park near the lake in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Summerfest lasts for 11 days on 11 stages, hosting more than 700 bands. Every year it gets visited by 800,000 to 1,000,000 people and that makes it “The World’s Largest Music Festival”. In 1999 they got Guinness recognition for that. If you visit it you can enjoy in different music genres but also comedy acts, fireworks, shopping, family activities and more. Even though it is one of the oldest events, it still managed to preserve that magic that makes these festivals truly unique and special.
