4.The Sinkholes of Turkey

This may look like somebody created a giant drilling machine to bore to the center of the Earth, but it’s actually a sinkhole formed due to the increase of groundwater leading to land subsidence. The area in Turkey has had numerous sinkholes open up in recent years. A drone captured this stunning image of the gaping hole in the Karapinar district in Konya, Turkey. The increased groundwater usage has now caused more than 300 sinkholes in the area.
