9.The Big Dismal

Who wants to jump right in? Well, if you do, you might survive the fall, but we’re not sure you could get back out of the Big Dismal. The Big Dismal is part of the Leon Sinks Geological Area in Leon County, Florida. Leon Sinks is actually an extensive underwater cave system, one of the largest in the world. The largest sinkhole in the area is Big Dismal, which contains a 100-foot drop to the water, which is said to be another 100 feet deep.

While not many venture into Big Dismal, the next sinkhole is a popular one for BASE jumpers, as it’s considered one of the largest in the world.
